Christmas Opening Hours

CASTLE ADMISSION

Cardiff Castle will be open to visitors all through the festive period, during our winter opening hours.

The only exceptions are on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, when the Castle is closed.

HOUSE CLOSURES FOR FILMING

Sunday 17 – Tuesday 19 November

On the dates listed above, parts of the Castle House will be closed to visitors while filming for a major production is taking place. During this time, access to the Victorian Apartments will be limited or may be entirely unavailable.

Admission prices on the effected days have been reduced to reflect these changes to the visitor offer.

Guided Tours of the House will also be unavailable but Clock Tower Tours will be running as an alternative.

THE PUBLIC SQUARE

From Thu, 14 November to Sun, 5 January, the Castle’s Public Square will be open to the public daily, with extended opening hours to coincide with Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland skating times.

The only exceptions are on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when Winter Wonderland is closed.
